Greetings, my friends! I am coming to you fresh from our most recent BomaLink strategy session. We are so excited and thrilled about what we have in store for you! This is a little teaser of what is coming as we work to button up the platform. What was once a big picture goal is now fast becoming a reality.  I am a firm believer that if you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand.

BomaLink is a product of a vision that came to me when I traveled throughout Africa. I realized that while our African brothers and sisters have migrated to different parts of the world for family, for education or for business, there is nothing like coming home…coming back to your roots.

The idea for BomaLink was born in Nairobi, Kenya during the AfroChampions Boma conference founded and organized by Dr. Edem Adzogenu, Anne-Elvire Kormann-Esmel and their amazing team.  I envisioned a place where we can gather to connect, exchange ideas and build opportunities.

“Boma” comes from the word “gathering” in Swahili. BomaLink is where we gather to link with one another based on common interests, common experience and common goals.  We have transcended countries and created #BomaLink to connect the African continent to the rest of our African global community.

At BomaLink you can expect to find business connections, opportunities and yes, funding. We have also strategized about including the United States’ #ProsperAfrica initiatives in our long term objectives.

Today, we are one step closer towards delivering BomaLink to your fingertips. Our strategy session helped us unify and clarify our process. It identified our short term and long term goals and if you are reading this, it identified you as a prime contributor to the success of BomaLink.

Our strategy sessions uncovered growth opportunities that we will be pulling forward six months ahead of schedule. Because, why not? Doing so allows our members to discover the strength in connection and relationship building.

People like to do business with people that are similar to them. And for so long, we have been on the outside of deal making, employment and funding opportunities. Why?  Because we are the last to know. But not anymore.

I need you to reach out and connect with your childhood friends, school mates and your past co-workers because in connecting lies the opportunity to learn about what they are doing, how you can help them and how they can help you.

When the intersection of an opportunity meets a connection, the question is: Who would you rather do business with? The answer is simple: someone you can trust and someone you know. Identifying those key intersections will help to link our members to opportunities to grow and build their network and ultimately, their net worth.

Please visit BomaLink.com to register your email address so you can receive updates as we get closer to launch.  I am very excited to be a part of something that is going to be a game changer for African individuals and businesses. And I can’t wait to connect with you on BomaLink soon!
