Shola Salako is seasoned entrepreneur, motivational speaker and philanthropist with a great passion for improving the lives of his fellow humans, maximizing the individual potential and continuous growth through mentorship, guidance and coaching.

Shola is the founder and executive director of Agents of Hope, a non-profit/charity organization that focuses on financial literacy and personal empowerment. Agents of Hope is his primary outlet for giving back to the community practicing the philosophy of “teaching others to fish” in other to help others attain their desired level of self-reliance. He has executed several charity programs with Agents of Hope in Nigeria and the USA (www.hopeagents.org).

Mr. Salako is the Founder and CEO of Optimal Business Systems, an Information Technology solutions provider firm based in Michigan, USA. With a broad specialty in enterprise IT systems management, software development, IT consulting, outsourcing and IT staffing, Optimal Business Systems has helped many businesses globally save costs and increase profits while improving business processes and operations through technology innovation (www.obsvirtual.com). As a serial entrepreneur and President/CEO of The Sholex Group, he has founded and currently manages a number of technology-based ventures.

In May 2019, Shola was appointed by Ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao, the African Union Ambassador to the United States, to serve on the African Union Diaspora Health Initiative Steering Committee – a board that serves as a catalyst for rebuilding the global African family in the service of the development and integration agenda of the African continent.

Chaired by Aliko Dangote, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria and President Thabo Mbeki, former president of South Africa, Shola is also collaborating with the AfroChampions Initiative – a set of innovative public-private partnerships and flagship programs designed to galvanize African resources and institutions to support the emergence and success of African private sector multinational champions in the regional and global spheres.

Shola was born in Buffalo, New York but spent his formative years in Nigeria. He attended the Delta Steel Company Primary School, Warri, Federal Government College, Ogbomosho, and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, before returning to the United States to further his education, career and experience. He lives in Lagos and Michigan.
